 | Karl Mansfield Hertz President & Director Karl Mansfield Hertz is the President and owner of the Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home, Inc. He is a 1968 graduate of the California College of Mortuary Science. Karl is a charter member of the Malvern Voluneer Rescue Unit, where he served as Chief for 29 years. He has been a Paramedic since 1971, and was the first Volunteer licensed in the state. He is also a member of the Malvern Volunteer Fire Dept., St. John's Lutheran Church of Hastings, IA, and served three terms as Mayor of Malvern. Karl is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Iowa Funeral Directors Association where he served as Treasurer and is the current District Four Governor. | |

He is a 1994 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville and a 1997 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. K.E. is a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Past President of the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce and also serves on the Visiting Nurse Association of Pottawattamie County (VNAPC) Hospice Advisory Committee. He is a member of Rotary International, the Glenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association, and Carson Volunteer Fire Department. He serves as an EMT and Firefighter I for both communities.
